Red, White & Blue Layered Slush

Red, White & Blue Layered Slush is the ultimate July 4th drink—fun, festive, and totally non-alcoholic! With layers of strawberry, pineapple (or coconut), and blueberry slush, this icy treat is as delicious as it is patriotic. Perfect for kids and adults alike at your Independence Day celebration.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries (or raspberries)
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple (or coconut sorbet for a creamier white layer)
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 1/2 cups lemonade, divided
  • 1 1/2 cups coconut water, divided
  • 2–3 tablespoons honey or agave syrup, divided (optional, to taste)
  • Ice as needed
  • Fresh berries and mint for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the Red Layer: In a blender, combine frozen strawberries, 1/2 cup lemonade, 1/2 cup coconut water, and 1 tablespoon honey or agave (if using). Blend until smooth and slushy. Add a handful of ice if needed for a thicker texture. Pour the red layer into the bottom of 2–3 tall glasses. Place glasses in the freezer while you make the next layer.
  2. Make the White Layer: Rinse the blender. Add frozen pineapple (or coconut sorbet), 1/2 cup lemonade, 1/2 cup coconut water, and 1 tablespoon honey or agave (if using). Blend until smooth and slushy. Gently spoon or pour the white layer over the red layer in each glass. Return glasses to the freezer.
  3. Make the Blue Layer: Rinse the blender again. Add frozen blueberries, 1/2 cup lemonade, 1/2 cup coconut water, and 1 tablespoon honey or agave (if using). Blend until smooth and slushy. Carefully spoon or pour the blue layer on top of the white layer in each glass.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Top with fresh berries and mint if desired. Serve immediately with a straw and a festive stir stick!

Tips & FAQ

  • How do I keep the layers from mixing? Make sure each slush is thick and work quickly. Freeze glasses between layers for best results.
  • Can I make this ahead? It’s best made fresh, but you can prep the fruit and keep it frozen until ready to blend.
  • What if I don’t have coconut water? Use extra lemonade or plain water instead.
