Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs Chicken pieces (legs, thighs, breast)
- 1 cup Yogurt
- 2 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tbsp Tandoori Masala
- 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- Lemon wedges, for serving
- Onion slices, for serving
- Lettuce leaves, for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade:
In a large bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, tandoori masala, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, and vegetable oil. Mix well to form a smooth marinade. - Marinate the Chicken:
Make small slits in the chicken pieces to help the marinade penetrate.
Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for best flavor. - Preheat the Oven or Grill:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or prepare a grill for medium-high heat. - Cook the Chicken:
Arrange the marinated chicken pieces on a wire rack over a baking sheet (or directly on the grill grates).
Bake or grill for 25-30 minutes, turning once halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred at the edges. Internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
For extra char, broil the chicken for 2-3 minutes at the end. - Serve:
Serve hot with lemon wedges, onion slices, and lettuce leaves on the side.
Enjoy your homemade Tandoori Chicken!
