Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs Chicken pieces (legs, thighs, breast)
  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 2 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tbsp Tandoori Masala
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Onion slices, for serving
  • Lettuce leaves, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade:
In a large bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, tandoori masala, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, and vegetable oil. Mix well to form a smooth marinade.
  2. Marinate the Chicken:
Make small slits in the chicken pieces to help the marinade penetrate.
Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for best flavor.
  3. Preheat the Oven or Grill:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or prepare a grill for medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the Chicken:
Arrange the marinated chicken pieces on a wire rack over a baking sheet (or directly on the grill grates).
Bake or grill for 25-30 minutes, turning once halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred at the edges. Internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
For extra char, broil the chicken for 2-3 minutes at the end.
  5. Serve:
Serve hot with lemon wedges, onion slices, and lettuce leaves on the side.

Enjoy your homemade Tandoori Chicken!
